Nick is a freshman at the University of New Hampshire majoring in philosophy and disability studies. As a senior in high school, Nick developed and hosted Multi-Ability Awareness Day, a school-wide event, which aimed to raise awareness of the social issues and injustices that people with disabilities face in society today. In the summer before his senior year, Nick interned for the NH Council on Developmental Disabilities. He has also lobbied and written letters to congressional representatives about the recent healthcare overhaul and its impact on people with disabilities. Nick had an article about the linkage between poverty and disability in developing countries published in the Keene Sentinel and Mosaic Webzine. You can find all of his work on disability at his website called www.flipsideofdisability.org. Nick loves outdoor activities including rock climbing and hiking. He recently received Wilderness First Responder Certification and is a member of the National Honors Society.
