Kristin Dougherty currently a high school senior. She is one of four founders of the O'Connor Friend's Club. The club plans activities and gatherings, provides friend support, peer tutor trainings, and spreads the notion that differences should be celebrated. As an experienced peer tutor, she has brought the peer tutoring program of her school to neighboring schools, and has co-taught the training sessions for these new peer tutors. Dougherty is also a member in the AzWINS Leadership Group, a group dedicated to providing supports for teachers and schools throughout Arizona that are becoming or already are inclusive. For four years, Dougherty has volunteered at an organization that provides equestrian therapy to people with disabilities.
