National Taskforce Leadership

Jordan Taylor Moore, 17
San Diego, California
Affiliation: Girl Scouts & Kids Included Together

Jordan is in the 11th grade. She created a project on Disability Awareness and Inclusion targeted for elementary and middle-school aged children. The objective of the project was to make kids aware of different types of disabilities, to introduce them to advocacy laws and to encourage inclusion. She worked closely in a middle school special education class with twelve students over the course of a school year, creating art and doing activities. She worked alongside six different agencies in San Diego and finished her project by holding a day-long workshop presenting information and interactive activities for children to learn about inclusion. She helped her local Girl Scout council by building disability awareness kits and revamping the program resources to include books in Braille and inclusion kits for all troop members. She has done a great deal of public speaking on leadership, disability awareness, and inclusion.
